23 years ago, A star was born, a gorgeous multi talented and sweestest person ever in the history was born on this beautiful day and her name is Christina A. Riley. My partner in crime, (lol) food crimes. The better half of this food blog, <3333

After a few years of my friendship with her, it feels like we've been friends since lifetimes and lifetimes ago. I feel like I known you forever. I knew from the beginning when we first met,we would be great friends! You have such a positive vibe and energy.  When you meet someone and you can feel their geunine care and love for you , it's the most beautifulest thing in the world. I am so happy and lucky to be your friend. Everyone I bring you around feels the same exact way. My family loves you , my friends love you. You are so rare, everything you do is so wholeheartly beautiful. 

In my darkest times you were there for me, you always give me the best advice and you never judge me or make me feel shitty, I cried on your shoulder when I was heartbroken and you always try cheered me up.  I dont know to honestly explain how much I care about you and I apperciate every single thing you do! I just do! You are so beautiful inside and out, It breaks my heart that you don't see how amazing you are. You are so awesome and whenever you are feeling low or whenever you need me you know I will be there for you. 

I just got this friendship poetry book for Xmas and Every single of these poem are you. They describe you. My friendships are very important to me. I cherish them and I cherish you so here is one the poems... (it's really hard to pick one because they are all so good) lol

Happy New Years!: "Stuff I Eat" Vegan Restaurant!

HAPPY NEW YEARS!!!!!

I'm so happy to be back and ready for more delicious food this year! I'm sorry Christina and I have been M.I.A after the amazing vacation to New Zealand and the holidays were coming around the corner aka Holiday Food Frenzy Galore, so we've been slacking on going to restuarants but it's a New Year, We will be Better Moms to this blog!  Aaaand that means our baby turned 1 years old!!!!! :D I started this blog in January 2015 and now It's Jan 2016 and I cant believe. Last year went sooooo fast for us , I blinked and It was gone. 

Awhile back our close friend Theresa (you guys have seen her before in our other posts), reccomended us to go this Vegan Restuarant called "Stuff I Eat" after watching Buzzfeed famous video about the restuarant in Inglewood! Which is my hometown, so I had to represent. And after watching the video and seeing how young looking the owner of the place is, She is 60 years old by the way but looks late 30's by just eating Vegan Food made us want to try out her delicious, raving vegan food!!!

So finally after months of saying it and 2 other recommedations of this place we finally went!

When you first step in , it's feels like an art gallery, jazz music in the backround and unique pieces of art everywhere and of course the smell of really good food makes me felt welcomed.

The Menu! <3

After a few debates in my mind what to get, I really looking forward to trying...

Organic Soul Food Platter, so many people aka Buzzfeed reccommended me this dish! So I had try it out! <3333 

Theresa was debating to get the biscuits and gravy Or Soul Food, She is southern gurl and she loves her biscuits and gravy but she decided to get the same dish as me, The Soul Food Platter! <333

Christina decided to get the SIE Quesadilla <3333

We went to order our fooood in the front .

I like that we could see what they were doing and how they prepare our food freshly! <333

 We were all excited, we never tried vegan food before. The only thing I ever tried that was vegan was desserts, like cupcakes, cakes, and oh yeah actually lasgana too! lmao and guess what, They taste so good! I must say even better than the non vegan, So I was very excited to try this restuarant out! Especially The Soul Food Platter!!! yuuummm...

We waited for awhile, we were starving and ready to eaaaat! While waiting Theresa made this cuuuute napkin plane lmaooo

After 30 mins of waiting and making silly faces later, The Foood Arrived! 

The Soul Food Platter contains of,

Mac and Cheese

Yams

Cornbread

Coleslaw/Salad

Potato Salad

Black Eyed Peas

Kale

and BBQ Tofu! <333

SIE Quesadilla  is vegan cheese quesadialla, topped with corn, salsa, guacamole, and side salad!

and then We dive on in! 

My tastebuds was mindblowed again! I swear Vegan food is too damn good! Especially this Organic Soul Food Platter! 

Let's break this down shall we! 

SOUL FOOD PLATTER! <3333

• Mac and Cheese 5/5 : So good legit taste like real mac and cheese!!!
• Yams: 5/5 Not too sweet, not too mushy, just amazing!
• Coleslaw: 3/5 I'm not huge fan of regular coleslaw but this was pretty darn good
• Cornbread: 1/5 Naww, I dont need it. It was dry.
• Kale: 4/5 Holy Snaaaaap, I didnt know kale would taste so damn good, but I must say it was quite salty.
• Black Eyed Peas 5/5: You have won me to the dark side! lmao I am offically love Black Eye Peas! it taste so delicious and it has this nice kick, like it has curry in it! Just loooove it! 
• BBQ TOFU 5/5: I looooved it! I wanted more, it had texture of real meat and it taste like I was eating meat I love it! I would have never known I was eating tofu! and the BBQ sauce on that thang was delcious! 

Theresa : "The macaroni n' cheese and was my favorite part. The tofu ribs were pretty good and I don't even like tofu. I would just recommend ordering extra ribs because of the small portions."

Christina: The quesadilla was odd to say the least, at first I didn't think I'd like it. The odd thing was it was really good. Although the way I will describe it will sound unappetizing but never the less is was still good. The tortilla part itself was a little sweet and really light. The vegan cheese tasted like A nacho cheese chip that was condensed into a sauce. And considering i am really picky when it comes to cheese, it was pleasantly surprised that I liked it. 

Christina: Now for dessert we got the sweet potato pie, that was so heavenly it made my eyes water. Even Theresa, who hates sweet potato could have a couple bites. 

Tia: We wanted to cry that how good it was, lol This was amazing! From the first bite to the last bite! <3333 It was honestly better than any other sweet potato pie I ever had in my life! I would just go there for the sweet potatoe pie!

They had this really cool looking chair at the front of the resturant so before we left I had to go seat in it lmao! I felt like a Queen lmao. 

OVERALL

Christina: Would I go back? Probably. Would I get the quesadilla? Probably not next time, they have a lot more stuff on the menu for me to try.

Tia: I really enjoy everything so yes I would love to go here again. I would try something new too, like a burrito or a sandwich. And I loooove to have a taste of that sweet potato pie again! <3333

We're Baaaaack from New Zealand!!!!

Hellooooo! How are you? I hope everything is going well , going great! How was New Zealand you ask.... It was freaking AMAZING! AWESOME! I  loved every single moment of it! It felt like a dream come true! We are so blessed to go somewhere so different and enjoy the culture and omg the food... I wish some days I can go back there and go eat at every delicious restaurants and try our favorite drink in NZ again :,) siiigh*

So When I show these pictures to you, I'm going to try hard not to cry ( I miss NZ!!!) and plus I'm hungry which not the best way to start a food blog especially from places across the world from me. lmao But I will manage. When We were in New Zealand, we tried a lot of restaurants but I'm not going to lie we were happy to see they had a Burger King and McDonalds lmao. I definetly wanted to try the fast food places over there to see if their food is any different from ours. And yaaaas it's a difference, Burger King's  burger meat is way thicker and it taste like actually beef burger. Even the fries are more crispier and delicious. They didn't over salt it at all. I love NZ Burger King, I recently had an Amercian one when I came back but it wasn't the same but ehh. All thru the trip I really really wanted to try out this pie called Plum And Custard PIE from McDonalds. In New Zealand, they dont have McDonalds in every corner like America does so it was kinda harder to find but i'll let you know if it worth it ....( the search for plum custard pie shall be continued).....

I want to go in order of which restuarants we went first and all that so just letting you know. ;)

FOOD FROM PAIHAI

So the first actual sit down restaurant we went to was this BBQ place, Bill picked it out especially since it was his b-day and you know men and their BBQ!  lol I loved the place a lot. It reminded me  lot of America BBQ restuarant.

 

My chicken burger was sooo good! Everything about this meal was so delicious!

 

Christina had the Chicken Pesto Wrapped in Bacon w/ Coleslaw and Fries.

 

Cecelia had the Baby Back Ribs and fries.

 

Bill had the same thing as Cecelia

 

This was two warm cinnamon donuts served with chocolate ice cream w/ whip cream and chocolate syrup! = PERFECTION 

 For Breakfast the next day we went to a restaurant called Alfrescos!

 

I think all of us would agree that our favorite restaurant in Paihai was Alfrescos! We went here three times out of our trip and I'm so happy we did. We got reccomended by this restaurant by really sweet German guy that actually works here but we meet him on the streets of Paihai trying to find another restuarant of another name. lmao

1st breakfast here I didn't take much pictures cuz hunger was calling my name lol.... but here is a few.

 

I think this was called Brekkie Breakfast. It was really good! It had toast with this thick creamy butter, with roasted baby potatoes, eggs, sausages, and roasted tomato! Yuuummm.

 

Christina had the same as me but with Bacon! yuuumm. Ignore the long face, trust she was happy I'm just not really good at capturing pictures when im hungry myself.  *wrongtiming*

That day we went to take boat ride so we can adventure out in the Island of Russel. 

 

 

 

When we got to Russel Island, we had a tour of the whole island! <333 

 

Our Tour Guide! <333 He is so sweet and funny too! AND I looove his accent!

 

After We were really cold, LMAO most of the trip We were really cold, especially me and Cecelia! So we got some Hot Chocolate from one of the chocolate shops in Russel.

 

We also had some of this handmade chocolate in the shop and it was sooo delicious! 

 

Bill bought some Nacho Cheese Doritos and we later figured out it taste nothing like our Nacho cheese Dortios. They're taste like taco seasoning and cool ranch. lmao We did get another Dorito bag and it was called Cheesier Dortios. They tried lmao. It's funny to try different things from different countries that also USA has.

So for Dinner that day We went to our fave food hang out of course Alfresco's! 

 

This was sooooo sooooo good! OMG! It was two tender chicken breast, with a feta cheese pine nuts salad, and roasted sweet potatoes! and it was heavenly! Amazing! <333 Yuuummm

 

I think Christina go the pork belly dish with mashed potatoes! <333

 

NOW this is the drink that I was talking about in the beginning! This is Christina and I's favorite thing to drink in NZ. It sooooo good! We love it! I miss this more than anything right now! It's Lemon and Paeroa soft soda drink! It doesn't have a strong bubbly taste it's smooth and sweet and ahhhh! Love it!!! <3

Guess where we went for Breakfast.... ALFRESCOS! I'm telling you this place was amazing!

I had Banana Nut Loaf with cinnamon butter w/ delicious banana foster and whip cream. Bacon And Eggs! Orange Juice on the siiiiide! <3333

 

Cecelia had a Salmon Egg Benedict! <333

 

Bill had an omelet with butter toast with bacon and eggs! 

 

I believe Christina had the same as Bill's but scrambled eggs instead. 

ON THE ROAD AGAIN!  

So going to Rotorua, We stopped at this cute lil cafe that was recommended by the sweetest person we met on the trip, Barbara! We met her at Bai Hali Motel because she owns that motel (which is gorgeous motel by the way and highly recommended!!!) She told us they have some really good food there and we should check it out! Soo we did! 

 

Me and Christina got this BLTA ( Bacon, Lettuce, Tomato and Avocado) Sandwich on Foccica Bread! It was so yummy!

 

Also gotta nice cold ice coffee! <333

 

 

We also got these delicious potatoes wedges. Perfection! <333 We took over Bill's Fries! lmao xD

 

Thanks Bill! :D He had a ham and cheese sandwich! Which is behind the water bottle glass! lmao

 

Bill also got a lime milkshake! Cecelia had I believe Clam Chowder! She loved it! <333

So we met the neighborhood/restuarant cat! which is such a cutie pie and fell in love with Christina! 

True Facts: Cats love Christina and Christina loves Cats. Literally everytime there is cat around anywhere and they see Christina they fall in love with her! She is literally CatWoman I swear! But the good one not the one that steals jewerly in the Comic Books ....lol

 

And we also met the restuarant friend chicken named Hector! He is quite Handsome. Look at the colors on that boy! <333

 

Sooo Happy to be there! and ready to take nap after that yummy food.

I was so happy , the sun was out! and we just ate some really really good breakfast buffet food! (Sorry I didn't take any pictures of that ) I  suck at cartwheels but at least I tried lmao

After the tour we get free drinks, We could choose from Dark Ale, Cider Beer, or Ginger Beer. I got Cider Beer, Christina got Dark Ale, Mom and Pop got Ginger Beer. When I tried a bit of their beer I was hooked from the whole trip! lol I got Ginger Beer where I go from then on!

Cecelia got this pork pie! I believe! lol It loooks quite insteresting. lol I was kinda scared to try it. But she seem to like it :3

DINNER TIME! We went to this really unique restaurant in Rotorua and It was a Italian/Indian Cuisine mix diner and everything on the menu looks like wouldnt go good together but omfg!!!! Everything was on point! Everything was soooo delcious like omg! Me and the Raileys were amazed!

 

Of course I got my Ginger Beer! 

 

Omg! This pasta was to die for! It was like Penne Masala Chicken Mushroom Pasta , just amazing! <3

 

I wish I took a better picture of this pizza! but Christina's personal pizza dish was AMAZING! it was so delicious and cheesy and pesto -y ! lmaooo

 

Cecelia loved her dish too and Bill was grubbing he was in looooove! xD

I miss this restaurant and the unique blends of culture together was phenomenal.

NEXT DAY....

 

Maori Culture is really huge in New Zealand! Everywhere you go will see their culture. It so beautiful and unique! I love history and learning about cultures is definetly one of my passion. So it was really nice to see the beautiful history of it all.  I would definetly recommended  anyone that wants to travel to New Zealand to learn about Maori! It's very spiritually and unique. I love it! 

 

OMG! <3333 This museum! So BEAUTIFUL! 

 

We went inside and enjoy seeing the history of this place. It used to be a BathHouse! 

 

Gotta go check this out if ever you're in Rotorua!

PLUM AND CUSTARD PIIIIIE!!!! 

 

So I finally got to try out my Plum and Custard Pie from McDonalds that you can only get in NZ. 

 

It was really good! Crispy sweet flaky crust, in the middle a smooth buttery custard with a sour/sweet plum. It everything I wanted and more yuuum yuuum! ,3

In Taupo, we tried this awesome restaurant,I forgot the name...but it was really delicious! lmao

 

I got the Coconut Chicken, with rice and a side of salad. I never had Coconut Chicken before but now that I had I want it everywhere I go.  

I didn't take pictures of everyone's food because I felt bad everyone seem hungry and i didnt wanna bother them but I did take pictures of the DESSERTS!!! O.O <3333

After that delicious breakfast, we went to get on a boat ride and it was so much fun!

 

After the Boat Ride we got some really good dinner!

 Before we knew it, we were off to Tahiti! Didn't take too many pictures of that place because my camera was so full but we had a great time there thou too! 

Thank you again for The Raileys family for inviting me to this trip it means alot to me! and it is something I will not ever forget and I am forever grateful! 

We have still more restaurants to try out in LA So We'll be back in our regular schedule!
